We are a group of gay men with an enthusiasm for transport, road, rail, water or air, historic and new.
This site contains details on the group's aims and activities, as well as membership information, how to contact us and information on our programme for the 2007/8 season.
The group is now in its 35 year with a solid core of about 90 members, and meetings are held monthly.
We try very hard to make the group welcoming and fun for new members, so if you would like to join and come along to a meeting to see if we're for you, please contact us.
the Group produces a monthly member's newsletter outlining forthcoming events and items of interest for the transport enthusiast.
Many of our members belong to other transport interest groups and share their vast amount of knowledge.
The Transport Group exists to provide facilities for meetings, visits, tours and similar events connected with railways, buses, trams, trolleybuses, aircraft, shipping and associated forms of transport. We also hold periodic social events.
The season ends with the usual garden party and planning meeting.
This is where group members decide what they want included in next season’s calendar. The usual holiday snaps (which must contain an obligatory works tram car) or something more educational and entertaining .......the members decide.
In September the group looks forward to an East Anglia gaddabout by bus and train.
